Summer is here.

Well, my sophomore year at BYU is officially over.  Last semester has definitely been one of the most crazy and busy semesters in my college career but hey, it is over now! And my grades turned out to be really quite good even though I was pretty sure I was going to get straight B's. (Which are still good grades but not for my type A nursing student brain).

Anyways, the biggest adventure of this past month has been the National Student Nurses Association Convention that I was invented to go to in Charlotte, North Carolina.  Despite an overnight flight that left me in a bad mood the first day that I was there, it was a very good trip overall.

This was in front of a really cool modern art museum.  As the mottofor modern art should be: interpret it how you will

For St. Patrick's Day some friends and I turned the house into  "Molly's Irish Pub" and played "drinking games" which consisted of way to much soda.  It was cool to see a real Irish pub... although it does not even compare to Molly's Pub.

I think that I will do just that -- Be a nurse.

So, you can't really tell from the picture... but I ran into the Miami Heat while they were in town to play the Charlotte Bobcats.  This picture is funny because when I was aiming my camera I obviously did not take into account how tall NBA players are.

I want to live here.

This is a fantastic southern-hole-in-the-wall restaurant... My cloths still smelled like Mert's the next day!  Really yummy though!

There was a newspaper office building that had various headlines posted around the  perimeter.  If I wasn't going to become a nurse I would want to be a journalist.

This is when they were broadcasting about the Final Four... I thought it was really cool.  I LOVE BASKETBALL!

Well enough about the NSNA convention.  Now that I am done with winter semester I have moved to a house just south of campus that I love! It is so nice to live in a house instead of an apartment.  I also went swimming today with a friend and it was fantastic.  SUMMER IS HERE!  Tomorrow is my first day back at the nursing home that I will be working at all summer as well as taking Spring and Summer classes.  We'll see how this goes!

Good Life.

So, this has become more of a journal than anything else.  So, just a heads up, this is going to mostly be about what is going on in my life recently.  Nothing deep or profound.  Fair warning!

This semester has been crazy busy and it has only been 4 weeks of school.  I can't believe how fast time FLIES while I am in school, particularly this semester.  This semester is my gerontology semester, so my clinical is in a nursing home and my classes are all focused around the care of older adults.  Since I have been working as a CNA for the past two years a lot of it has been review so far.  But next week we are starting injections and I am SO excited about that.  As I mentioned, I started clinicals this semester and I am so excited to be able to do "real nursing things", as I like to call it.  But I'll post more about my clinical experiences as I gain more throughout the semester.

Another cool aspect of school is for my Pathophysiology class.  We are doing a lifestyle project and for mine I decided to go off sugar completely for a month.  I am about a week in and it has been pretty great so far!  It has been interesting and I am realizing how much will power I have.  But we will see how the next 3 weeks go.

Anyways, onto more interesting things besides school, here are a few of the wonderful things that I have been up to lately.

One of the (many) extremely weird things that me and my friends do...

I'll let you interpret that how you want...

I also went sledding for the first time in a really long time a few weeks ago and it was so much fun!!

It was a blast!  And I can't believe that I have been missing out on so much fun for that past few years!!  It was exciting!

Here is me and my friend Audrey!  All in all, it was fantastic (with the exception possibly compressing my spine, but all is well now!).

The main events (or should I say obsession??) has been BYU men's volleyball.  My roommates and friends have been so nice to listen to me talking about men's volleyball constantly for the past month!  Last week I went to the game, sat on the front row down on the floor!! (for both games last week actually), and got to participate in the half time serving competition (which has been my dream for forever!!).

This is where my spot to stand was... :)  I was so close I felt like I was actually a part of the game!

And here is me and my friend Megan getting our game face ready for the serving competition.  Yes, she is really tall, I didn't just shrink all of a sudden! (6'3" to be precise.)

To sum it all up... It's a good life.
